A New Crowntainer for the Books!

#1

Post by Conehead »

I was fortunate to run across and obtain this new unknown Hull's Ale crowntainer.

It is the same as USBC #195-26 except this one is Non-IRTP.

I have checked with 3 top crowntainer collectors as well as Jules Kish who wrote "Beer Cans of Connecticut Breweries 1935-2013". None have any knowledge of the variation. Jim Campbell (author of the new unreleased crowntainer book) was also contacted but hasn't been heard back from yet.

Odds are there are some more of these out there but no one knew to look for them. Check your Hull's Ale crowntainer and let me know if you find this variation.

Just curious if you still have the Non IRTP Hulls Ale can. I would be interested in buying it if you have it and want to sell it. Thanks, Bill

Bill,

Yes, I still have the can, but it has burrowed itself within my collection and is not for sale at this time.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

Circling back on the Non IRTP Hulls, has it burrowed its way back up to the top of the collection and made itself available to sell? Always looking to add to my crowntainer collection.

Thanks Jim and have a great day.

Nope, NFS. I have only ever sold a can from my collection once, and have still to replace it.

Since I made the original post I have seen 2 more of these. I'm not sure if the one you show is one of the 2, so 3 for sure.

Thanks for the update. I bought this early one morning off EBay as a Buy It Now. One of those late night listings. Glad to have it, while not the best shape, it displays decently on both sides.

Jim, Checking in to see if you would part with the Non IRTP Hulls Ale Crowntainer. I have one, as you know. So I would trade mine and some cash for yours; if you are so inclined. What say you to,
$350 plus my can. let me know Sir and have a great day, Bill
