Different Boston Light Crowntainers?

#1

Post by canaddict »

Hi All,

Does anyone know if these 2 crowntainers are different (USBC 192-16 & 17)?

I believe the can on the right is 192-17 because it has the light cream color throughout the can and the other has no cream color. Other differences are the can on the right, the graphic at the top starts a little bit lower than the one on the left, which is shown as a difference in the USBC book. Also, on the side where it says, "Boston Light Ale, Brewed with...," the can on the right has a significantly bolder font.

Does anyone know for sure if these are different or the same cans?

Much appreciated!

Scott

I noticed these when you listed them on ebay.

I don't think you have 192-17 as that can is an all white crowntainer, 192-16 has the silver top.

I think you have slight variations of 192-16. The front label is very different. It may just be a heavier
paint strike on the right can but the difference is striking. A variation in my book.
I shall leave no cone unturned!!

Thanks Conehead! I bow to all of the knowledge experts on this site. I will change the add right now accordingly. Fortunately (or unfortunately) no one has bid on them yet.
