Esslinger Question

#1

Post by John H. »

I found something I didn't expect to see in the USBC regarding the second generation of Esslinger cans. It's regarding the second generation cans, the beer was gold and red and the ale was gold and green. Esslinger was one of the few companies that made essentially the same can in 12oz flats, 12oz cones, and 32oz quarts. For the 12oz cone but there was no ale can. It seemed weird that they would sell it as a quart and a flat, but not a cone. So the question is, has a 12oz gold & green ale conetop been discovered since the book came out, or did Esslinger really not produce it in a cone?

John,

The 12 oz. Ale cone is pictured in Beer Cans Unlimited. It's quite scarce, so I assume the guys couldn't find an example to shoot for USBC.

Agreed Marc. In the first DGR the Ale rated an "8".
