Agreed - the standard HPs never show up that clean. I saw the auction when it started, but didn't bid.
Glad an RBer got it, though. Keeps the good ones in the family.

Re: E&B Special on eBay tonight
If it wasn't for the 4000 can find of the bulb top, 52-2A, version of this can, this would be a easy $1000 can. Because of that find, most look at it and say common can and don't give it a second look. Try and find a bulb top version that wasn't part of that find and was actually filled or this non-bulb top, 52-4A, version and you will look a long time. Since this is a later version of the can, it makes me ask the question "Was there something wrong with those 4000 cans so they never filled them?
Yes Leon it was me who bid on the can and since I already have a really nice example I wasn't going to go crazy and tried to get it cheap. Glad Leon got it and not someone who thought it was just another E&B Special.
Here is my can.

I got more full cones. Probaly drained about 20 full cones recently. Sounds like a job for Wheaton. I sold Wheaton a full 8 oz Goebel flat top at Frankenmuth, Told him he's gotta drink it & put it on you tube. LEON.

When I saw that auction I thought it might be a replacement cone. Good job Leon. Perhaps a Michigan specialist resurgence has started?

Looking for a specific copper Drewrys Taurus can with smoke damage and top lid 1/2 cut out. Will pay or trade an upgrade for the can. (Sentimental attachment from my grade school days)

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?
