That is a very nice can. The dumper I found in 1980 is still on my shelf. I found mine in Northern Virginia. It is one of my very favorite cans in my collection. Where did you find yours? How many did you find? Did you find any other brands? Congratulations on this exciting find!

Thanks,

Mike, I found mine in a ceiling in Old Town Alexandria, VA. I'm a carpenter and I'm gutting and renovating a row house built in 1941. Apparently the carpenters drank Tru Blu. Lucky me, but I went through demolition hell to find it!

Thanks for the cheers!

This house, built in 1941, is down by the water on S. Royal St in Old Town, Alexandria, VA. I am gutting and remodeling it and have two more ceilings to drop.

Finding cans like that are what collectors dream about. It's the treasure hunt and thrill of the chase and it sounds like you are in a good line of business for finding more cans. Ever consider becoming a collector? You would be off to a grand start on a collection with a can like that being the first on the shelf. Congrats on your find and good luck on the search!

:smt030 We should mention the Clipper can found in California by an electrician, he gave it to the soon to be divorced owner[lady] of the house and it sold on Ebay for 19,299 Dollars. After the transaction was completed a different collector asked the lady; "Are there any more?" The next day the electrician found 12 more! There's gold in them there walls! Please keep us posted.

Did Canteen Boy drop the other ceilings? Were there more cans? Starting to think this is one of those stories that I may never hear/know how it ends.

I must be getting slow in my old age. I just figured out that this is the can I bought from Gene. Gene said he got it from Dan. It cleaned up really well. The bad side is shown, and the nick and the scratch are all that remain. The other side is virtually flawless.
