Another nice weekend find and have to say in all my years of collecting that I haven't seen this sign. Must be 50's and steel case. Super clean.

I have seen this sign in the past with a different Ruppert lower portion. I have no idea if the lettering on the upper part is original, but i lean towards not. I have seen the sign with letters and without. I always thought that the upper part was fragile - broken - and replaced with these plastic letters that could spell out different messages.
Anyone else think these are original or seen a complete sign with a diff upper portion?

I have to say that I think these were made without anything covering the two bulbs since the inside edges all have the same crackle finish paint. I think they most likely were sold with an assortment of letters to spell whatever you wanted. This one is missing one more black out letter box to completely hide one of the tubes.
