I found this lamp shade at an estate sale this week. Looks to be in good shape, but there is just the shade, no lamp....Anyone know history on these lamps? How they work, etc? Guessing it is from 1950s. Is it valuable as it is now? Any way I might be able to find the lamp part of it somewhere to make it functional. Love the colors, love old Hamm's stuff! Thanks! Scott

Re: Hamms Lamp Shade
You'll need to find both the lamp (a white post on a plastic base) and the toughest part will be the inner lined shade. Its usually warped and has can have cracking. The whole works would probably run you 250- 300 complete. You have the "night scene" shade with the dark sky. The illusion of movement comes from viewing the inner lined shade through the perforations in the shade you have. I know a guy that needs an upgrade on his outer shade,so if you'd care to part with it,drop me an email and I'll put you in touch with him.

Re: Hamms Lamp Shade
When I was a kid, my dad had some of the lamps that had Ford Model T`s and some with Model A`s on them. Maybe you can keep an eye out for a lamp and swap the shades???
