Has anyone updated a lighted sign with a new fluorescent or LED fixture? I picked up a Pabst shell and want to make it lighted again. None of the original guts are in it, so I am open to anything.
Thanks, Bill

Re: Beer sign lights
This is a pretty easy procedure, even if you are not savy with household electrical systems. Depending on space, you can even install a complete fluorescent fixture that you simply need to attach to the case and plug it in that is available from a home improvement center or Wal Mart.
Or, you can add a standard or candelabra base socket. Depending if you buy parts or a lamp kit, you will need to wire and add a plug. I recommend you use a CFL or LED bulb to keep the temperature inside the sign down to preserve the reverse on glass or plastic lens.

Re: Beer sign lights
I figured I would stop at Menards after work tomorrow and pick up an LED strip. I can`t hurt the sign any worse than it is. Someone did a nice butcher job on it......
Thanks for the ideas,
Bill
