Beer Bottle Labels- Info Wanted

#1

Post by baartz »

I just picked up some beer labels. A few of them are IRTP, some 50's, 60's, and 70's labels in here. Please let me know what the values for them are. If you are interested in any of them please let me know. Thank you!

Gunther's, Kamm's Ale, Cincinnati Burger Beer, and Daeufer's Porter are IRTP. Kol is Grace Bros. Yuengling says James Finkel Sole Agent Seattle, WA across the top and says Expressly brewed for Hotel and Family trade. Schlitz rectangle shaped label has Japanese writing on the right side.

Can you date the label? I'd be interested in when they sold Yuengling on the left side, of the US not Florida. Can you take a larger picture of that label?

Thanks, Kenn

Here's some close-up photos of the Yuengling Label. It says, "SOLE AGENT CHARLES FINKEL, SEATTLE, WA." across the top. It also says "BREWED EXPRESSLY FOR HOTEL & FAMILY TRADE", under where it says Pilsner Beer. Notice it does have a Zip Code. If anyone can give me information on this label I'd appreciate it. It came in a collection of mostly California beer and wine labels. Thank you.

Hey Brian,

I found this article on a Charles Finkel, sound like it might be your man.

http://www.realbeer.com/library/authors ... finkel.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also more interesting is this article talking about him and Yuengling. It says he chose labels form their early brewing history. "Finkel in 1978, became the agent for D.G. Yuengling of Potsville, PA, America's oldest brewery (for states west of the Mississippi). While he did not change the beers, he did choose labels from the brewery’s early archives."

http://www.pikebrewing.com/history.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There was also a group of those labels passed in with no bids on eBay a while ago, with photos as well.
