DUG THIS KILLER BOTTLE.
Went out last Saturday to dig 2 Privies. First Privy did not have much in it but the 2nd privy had lots of bottles & some going back to 1870's, like this Killer P Kling Peninsular Brewing Aqua Quart blob top from Detroit Michigan. One of my ,most wanted bottles. LEON.

Re: DUG THIS KILLER BOTTLE.
Leon,
I have a few question to ask you about your dug those Killer Bottle. One of them ,what bantam mention about, Since see some snow on the ground, winter time, and cold weather. I was wondering how deep the ground frost is. Because if had very cold weather before snow falls, then the ground should be hard as a rock !!!!!!!!!!!
2nd question, How deep were you were when you found the first bottle ?
3rd question, How deep were you were when you start finding those Killer Bottle.
4th question, How long have you have been digging and finding those old bottle over the years ????
By the way, Congratulation on your AWESOME find

Since we had some warm weather & lots of rain the ground was not frozen but soft. sometimes this time of year it might be soft on top 6 inches but then frozen under that. But so far not this year. We did have snow a day or 2 before this dig. As for Question #2, Don't remember, I do remember lots of rocky gravel in first foot which made it extremely difficult to keep digging. I was not to confident this hole would be any good, the gravel in first foot & lots of broken glass & trash in the next foot was not a good sign, But my digging partner that probed the hole was confident it was good. I had my doubts until we hit the first good bottle which was that Killer Klings Quart Beer at about 3 feet down. As soon as I seen that I knew it was dated around 1875-1885 time frame. Good enough for me. Also dug 2 H. Carrolls Aqua Quart Blob Beers from Jackson Michigan but they were both broke. To answer question #3 probably about 3 feet. As for Question #4, Been collecting bottles along with cans for many years. Bottles more seriously over past 10+ years. Been Digging Privies for past 6+ years. One thing I like about bottles is I can go out & dig them any day, any weekend & all summer long right by my house. Unlike Beer cans which can sometimes be 1 trip a year to the upper Peninsula of Michigan & 400 mile drive. LEON.

Re: DUG THIS KILLER BOTTLE.
Leon,
Thank for replying and I enjoy reading the story of bottle digging . I have a couple of question.. Those small bottle as shown in the picture. Are those are medicine bottle? If so, any value ???
Since you have been digging for 10+ years. Have you ever find a pre-pro beer bottle with a paper label attach ? ( By that I mean, total paper label, no tear )

Re: DUG THIS KILLER BOTTLE.
YES, A few Medicine bottles or some call them Druggist or Pharmacy bottles, some will say Druggist or Pharmacy on the bottles. They usually range in prices around $10-$30 but some can get over $100+. Yes, I've found prepro bottles with labels, readable labels but none that are what you call total label no tear, that would be about impossible & any label at all very rarely found. Nice haul Leon. You've gone beyond the beer can to the brewery roots!

Re: DUG THIS KILLER BOTTLE.
The broken Strohs beer bottle with partial label dates to pre 1902, most likely 1890's. That label is not pictured in Bob Kays Michigan label book. LEON.
