Found pile of 1870's bottles.

Post by Leon »

Found a shallow trash pit full of 1870's bottles. Mostly flask. many rare Eagle flask & clasped hands flask & other assorted flask but most of the good flask worth $100's each broken while the non embossed slicks were whole. One embossed flask from Bay City Michigan is the only whole one known to exist, since the only other one known broke one it's way to Auction speculated to get $2-3k. Not often you dig a big pile of 1870's flask in one hole. LEON.

Awesome Leon.

Can't wait to some of those cleaned up. It always amazes me.

What is the process to clean them? and how long does it take?

No, Do not usually shoot any video, I should though. Was watching some bottle diggers on YOU TUBE. They were digging tons of 1940's worthless Kectup bottles ect, ect & was getting all excited. In the mean time there were tossing tons of Cone Tops with good color over there shoulder like they were worthless :smt013 :smt018

Im dying to find another 1800s hole here in NC. Great bottles you found. Too bad the strap sided flasks were not embossed though.

Wellcome to the Rusty Bunch JacobS!
Jacob is a new Rusty Buncher who I met through the Mebane Historical Society.
He is a very enthusiastic bottle hunter who I have gone digging with several times.
He has led me to some cans and I have led him to some bottles.
I told him about our club and he has joined up.
He is has done his research and knows his bottles.
Glad to see you on board.

YES Jacob Welcome to Rusty Bunch. Just shared the same effort with a bottle collector here in Florida.... The payoff of sharing was quite beneficial...
