Geyser Spring Saratoga Spring New York bottle question

The one this guy is selling has the 'X' on the base you can see in the picture.

I have seen others with no 'X' on the base and slightly different font on the embossing as well as size of the letters/arrangement. I was wondering if anyone could explain the difference and what it means. Thanks.
