Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
That's a good one to find. Congrats. I remember 1 time a guy had like 12 land of lake nice dumpers for sale at a show. I bought all 12, took them home & started rubbing a spot on back on every one. Not one good can out of any of them.

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
pretty rough can to start but it was fun and good practice with the new cotton wheel. I’ll hit some of the blue spots and rim areas with a Dremel- very little rubbing involved. Ziphippie

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
After seeing first pic couldn't figure it out. BUT, As soon as I seen the Second pic I knew it was a Golden Brau, Then looked in the book to confirm. As I looked in the book I see next to it a Golden Brau Bock, Which I don't remember ever seeing before. LEON.

P.S.S. What made you think that was a paintover? any tell tale signs?

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
Hey LEON, there was a time not too long ago that you pushed me off the cliff to rub my own Big Cat Malt Lager. I practiced for a long time on 70’s Huber enamel cans- it takes a certain level of confidence only gained through experience. I read every thread on the topic in the Rusty Bunch forum and talked with zoinkss and Rubmaster specks169 to learn all I could about the process of application and removal, specks has a point when he says they aren’t paintovers but inkovers.
I could see “keglined” embossed near the seam on the foam-fresh Harvard. Calling it quits on the Golden brau- Ziphippie

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
One day you'll find a can to rub that is not totally round & shaped more like a stop sign. Those are always fun to rub. LEON.

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
Yep, so while I was looking for a triple print I found a Zing that I had uncovered but never really rubbed more than an inch off near the seam. Hit it with the wheel on my drill and found the flattop version in an early tab- added to the shelf. Ziphippie

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
OK....not a paintover.....but a "paperover" OD WF Blatz used as a shoe polish can. Not sure if it's common or not, but one just popped up in my Facebook group:

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
My bad! I did not see this thread and posted under General...
I need to give credit to PBama (Paul) for telling me about the National Can - Land of Lakes paintovers. I never really payed attention to it, but I saw some of the awesome cans underneath. I was a little nervous to wreck a nice LoL can, but I definitely saw primer on the edge and what appeared to be red paint under a scratch. I took some Turtle Wax rubbing compound and a paper towel and started rubbing the paint off...at first all I saw was grey primer and I was starting to bum out. Then I saw bright white and a red ribbon. When I saw the ribbon, I decided to keep going...
You experts out there might know what it is from one pic....it took me a little longer to identify it....more to follow

OK - I am done here...the final clean before it goes up for sale or on the "gee-whiz" shelf. This was a fun project! I already found another and KNOW I have more of these either on the shelf or in storage boxes....

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
I recently picked up a Whitman and Lord zip tab USBCII 134-27. A fairly tough can, but someone, for whatever reason decided to see what was underneath. Thank God they stopped when they figured it was just a Rheingold!
