Bock Beer in early (1933-1936) advertisements.......
I thought to get good use out of my newspaper.com subscription and share some Bock Beer ads that were released.....some made it to cans and some never did.....(I have a bunch so will post a few and add some more as time permits and members have an interest).....Move your mouse over the ad to see what date and newspaper it can from......

Man, the A & P had it going on back then. A tall glass of Blatz Ale or Schlitz Bock for 10 cents, and at ALL times. Must have been a good happy hour. Discussing: The great depression, the dust bowl, women voting, and wet tee shirt contests.

After all it was a dispensary......The term "dispensary" in the United States is used to refer to government agencies that sell alcoholic beverages, particularly in the state of Idaho and the South Carolina. Or maybe they gave out good narcotics as well......A dispensary is an office in a school, hospital or other organization that dispenses medications, medical supplies and dental treatment. In a traditional dispensary set-up, a pharmacist dispenses medication as per prescription or order form.

Those are really cool! What is the earliest Bock ad? I found some Schlitz bock ads glued in a scrapbook- at least they survived! Bjorn

This was the earliest actual Shiner Bock ad I could find......what got my curious though was the fact that NY Phoenix cans were sold in San Antonio and that Pearl had "bock" in cans if I read the ad right......but what are glass cans.....
