I'm sure these are obsolete now...but I don't recall ever seeing this retro before.

This article is from Florida in 2011. Anyone have this particular can in their trade stock?

I collect all the retro labels like this so keep me in mind.

@Longopener
This topic was discussed last summer. Several groups were created but the general consensus that made the most sense was if a Brand resurfaced, it had to look similar to an original design. Here's a link:

This was the final group I came up with:

@BrooklynBeer

Do you have an extra of the one you’re talking about?

I’d like one of those if anyone has one as well as the gold banded one.

That is not the Genny retro , that’s just the Alum version of the Our 1 Brewery makes it best back in early mid 80s .. here is the correct retro that followed the one on far left with gold bands Image

@kb You should have posted this in the thread where you have a disagreement with. What you're bringing up has nothing to do with the Rheingold Retro can posting.

Getting on to your opinion regarding the Genny Retro can, I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with your interpretation of the word "RETRO". The Cambridge Dictionary defines it as:

"having the appearance of something that existed in the past"

Your image shows what I would refer to as three "New" cans. Original can never had stripes on the bottom along with content information. The bottom text has changed from the original and the can with the frilly gold oval with script instead of block letters is the farthest thing from a retro. I base this on the feedback that I got in the original post: viewtopic.php?p=384883#p384883 I said:
There were a lot of offerings for Retro can samples. I revised the first image to go with what seemed to be the response making the most sense between this thread and the one in General Discussion. That comment was: "Retro should resemble the original can. Name with a new design is a new can." So, I created a new list (2nd pic) based on that theory.
I'll stick with what you referred to as "Alum version of the Our 1 Brewery Makes It Best back in early mid 80s" as a true retro version. As always, my opinion.
