1930’s Can dump revisited.

#1

Post by DanielinAk »

The wife and I went back to the 1930’s dump found last weekend. On this trip we dug 10 different variation from 7 different brands from what I can tell.
Cans dug:
Gold Budweiser’s
Rainier Mountain
Acme
Alt Heidelberg’s
Red Miller 82 years
Red Miller 80 years
Schlitz Lager FBIR
Schlitz Vitamin D
Lucky Lager Dated Beer
And a few Lucky Lager Age Dated beer with the red arrow at the top of the can.

Hiking the 1/2 Mile in.

Finding can’s within minutes upon arrival.

Layers of cans

Frozen dirt on the can. Had to leave it out in the sun so I could pop the clods off later.

Looks like that 1/2 mile walk in was worth it. Always good to revisit a 30's dump! Some of those will clean up nice. You've killed it all year Mr. Lucky Dumper!!
Thanks. Dave

Image I admit I dig so many of these I get tired of them, but on the same note I love them as I know this is the age I want to find older can when these pop out and who doesn’t love that shiny Gold.

Same can from above.
I actually took a photo of it in the field when it came out of the ground. Now you see the transition from before to after.
I’m sure I can work on this can a little more this winter and it deserves it.

Great that you had a chance to get back... Did you leave anything unturned? Leave anything for me?

Still cans there. It’s not a very big area at probably 30 yards long 10 foot wide with intermittent dumps in the area.

If I didn't know better, I'd say you were digging in Oregon or NorCal!
