return to Fay Lake

Beast Of Burden, Two Gallon Tom and I hit the sticks this afternoon near Fay Lake. I had an early morning head start and located a pretty big roadside dump close to the resort. They arrived and we went right to it- a whole mess of flats, plus one bonus quart! Found two more spots before dark, one dump had some lopro’s and one j-spout, we spent very little time in the truck. What a fantastic time hitting backroads of Wisconsin with Beastofburden, conesplus, Rusty and TwoGallonTom! Everybody was in camp by Friday evening, TwoGallon and Rusty shredded the Fay Lake dump first thing. The Beast and I searched the entire grounds earlier that day for an older dump with no success, all I found was bear scat. A peaceful, still night on the water with some grillins was disrupted by a muskrat, some surface feeding fish and the call of a loon. Saturday sunrise was early on the lake and we headed for a bite at Granny Sally’s and came up with a game plan. Neil had scouted out a spot on the way up and we needed to clean up the dump where I found the quart. Found cans in both dumps and a killer spot to throw a spinner for trout in the Brule at the end of the road. We hit a spot on the map that kicked up some WI flats previously and the gang found an older dump wayyy back near the waters edge that had more lopro’s. Had a tailgate samwich from the delicatessen and pushed on, following the Mapmasters’ lead. We hit more dumps in the afternoon, seemed like every stop yielded cans! Some real interesting finds- Ziphippie

Yes, very relaxed! I came home completely rejuvenated!
Soaked a couple cans last night, so far the mystery cans have been IRTP gold PBR. The Foxy D quart turned out to be from Marion, Ind. but I’ll take it!

I stopped to stretch my legs on the way home at an antique mall in Little Chute that usually has some quality beer items. One step in the door, this was in the first display case- I think I did a triple take, couldn’t process what was in front of me! Ziphippie

Awesome pickup on the 12oz FD cone. That is one of the better ones I seen.

Love the pics especially that White Birch Digging Club just looks old like lumberjacks or hunters from the 30’s the old building in background fits right in

Still pulling cans out of the acid. More Foxy D’s and some red Miller’s/white Bosch’s were from the lake dump near Tipler that TGT and Beast and I visited Friday. Ziphippie

Great pictures guys! I talked to Patrick since he's been back, and he said it was a fun time all in all. Looks like Steve won the variety award. I gotta tell you, it sure beats being laid up with Pneumonia for two weeks plus. Look forward to the next time I can get out.
