Rainier “Reindeer”

I want to congratulate my wife Serena Camacho on such a great Beer Can she dug while Metal Detecting May 4,2019.
Known as the “Reindeer” Beer.
Brewed by Rainier Brewery, the Reindeer can was Sold only in Alaska for a short period from 1956 and early in 1957. Just a scant 63 years ago.
Alaska was a huge consumer of Rainier Beer in which local Inuit Native Alaskans had difficulty pronouncing Rainier and hence they called it Reindeer.
Somewhere along the line here a lightbulb went off at Rainier and they printed a Reindeer on the lid of the Beer can as a sales gimmick, which was quickly sent North to Alaska.
Depicted on the beer can are Snowflakes and the wording
“More Life Naturally”
Which is part of the 1957-1964 Brewery Series of Rainier Beer series collection.
This would make Serena’s beer can only from 1957 now as that’s when the Brewery Series began, and making it that much more harder to to come by because of the short production phase during this year.
In closing I’d like to thank Steve Armstrong for his knowledge and guidance in finding the information provided at www.rustycans.com which has great information on the Rainier Series and Reindeer cans.
And lastly an article I found online from bcca.com Beer Collectors News Report Vol. VI, No.1 January 1976, page 5.
Congratulations Serena on a highly sought after desirable can.
