Winter dumping

#1

Post by digger »

Had a few sunny days here in east and most of snow melted so hit the woods. Lots of walking but finally found an older dump. Local guy was friendly and gave me some leads to check in the Spring . Ground was frozen in most spots so it was tough digging without wrecking cans so a return trip is needed .

I've never heard of anyone who has dumped a lighted clock before. It looks like that face was salvageable.

2 dumps were on a rd that Andy G and I have had some success in the past . Decided to follow the old saying go back where u found cans before and it worked . We did find Schaefer bocks on this rd before not far fro
M where this other one turned up. It pays to bring the mysteries home . I thought one flat was a Lion Ale here it was an Esslinger that has a metallic red band . Again after asking for permission to look for dumps I get a lead to see another neighbor who took me to a frozen dump and he even gave me some deer steaks . U never know what u gonna find or experience that’s why dumping can be so much fun

Did you bring that clock dial back? Looks like it'll clean up. A simple quartz clock movement and hand set will make it a useable clock.

Good guess on the tray at least that’s what I thought it was left the tray there but yes Scott I brought the Bally clock face home thought it would clean up for at least a sign but it’s faded in spots

Andy G and I went back to the dump this past Saturday that had a Schaefer Bock . The mild weather here in East made it digable . New word for me digable but I like it The dump was not frozen (digable) And was deeper than I thought . At the very bottom we started finding OI cans and big punchers . Condition was a problem but it’s always a rush when u can pull out some Oi cans and big punchers . We did find another bock can that was identifiable but a Ruppert Bock from 50s Took some mysteries more to dig there Will post some clean cans later .
