Digging with Bill Lindstrom....

#1

Post by Cap-Sealed »

I believe the first time I ever dug with Bill was at the Brookdale, CA show dig around 2005. Since then, we usually do one trip a year together. Here's a few memories of the last 13+ years:

Thanks for the post Ed! We have certainly logged a lot of miles. We had the unlucky dumper of the year award one year and followed up the next with lucky dumper. I have been fortunate enough that Ed and Dale let me tag along. Even when we don’t find anything the scenery is awesome and I get to escape the Texas heat.

It took a couple of years but we regularly find cans now. It used to be we'd get skunked and then the next week I'd go out and find Cream Tops or something like that! The dam finally broke on our trip to Montana with Conehead & Steve A. It took us 4 days to find the right area and of course, the last day we did the best. We had 4 pits opened at once, all producing cans. In 2016, we found the Finer Flavor Ale OIs, last year we found the Salute flats, and this year, Bill had his best single day of metal detecting ever! We have even bigger plans for 2019....

I was looking thru my map collection last night and I have maps I bought, put away and forgot about! I have plenty of spots picked out too. We'll have to work on some bullet trips for next year!

No, thank goodness! The only thing that came thru our camps are coyotes from time to time. Usually about 3am. Although Steve A said something brushed against his tent one night. I asked him which way it went and he said towards my tent!
