I was lucky to find a few of these last Friday up in Maine. Never expected to ever find this lable anywhere let alone in Maine. Still cleaning them and hoping there are more. Story coming to Rustlings.

Bob? George? Sam?

Seriously, looks to be a New Yorker Ale that should clean up nicely!

Dave,

What a tremendous find! The other two New Yorkers are seen as dumpers occasionally, but I've never heard of an Ale being dug before.

If you're interested in trading, I uncharacteristically have some good trade stock right now . . . a nice Boston J, a decent Old Dutch Bock, a nice 8 oz.Fox Deluxe, etc.

Bob,

Yeah, I have a thing for metallic green for sure. I passed on Liquid Boy's downgrades of the other two because I couldn't have the Ale, but that probably wasn't the best decision I ever made.

Dave, nicely done.
I don't know why I'm in the Michigan UP digging cans, when I should be back home in Maine doing same.
Actually it is fun either way.

What would you rather dig, Stroh's & Drewry's or New Yorker Ales . LEON.

Thanks guys. Yeah, a rush for sure. I actually found 8 whole cans and parts of two. So there might be two more lurking somewhere, but I did go back two days later and scoured around without any luck. Headed back up North tomorrow so I might try once more time. Story coming to Rustlings with greater details.

As your signature jab at my original quote "I'd rather drive 1500 miles out east and find nothing than drive the same distance around Michigan and dig Pfeiffers", its the chance of finding cans like those New Yorker Ales that makes me want to go to Maine and Upstate NY. Nothing of that rarity or condition has been dug in Michigan in the past 20 years. (The Golden Bud Ales are no slouch but still, Baldies, Kents, Apollos, Gamecocks, Neuweilers Bocks, Poths, Neuweiler's cream Ale longopeners, Mule Head OIs, Gretz crowntainers, etc....just so many tough labels still being dug out east)

Chris, I agree. Not much for rare $1000+ cans rarely ever get dug in Michigan. Some rare exceptions but you have a much better chance of digging rare $1000+ cans in any state but Michigan. Would be nice if every once in awhile people dug up a few cases of Phoenix cones in grade 2. I'd love to dig some Kents in Maine or white Pilsers j-spouts. LEON.
