Operation winter storm
As many of you all know, we’re getting hammered with an ice storm right now. This didn’t stop me from getting out for the first time this year. Not only is this my first time dumping in a winter storm, but I also dug my oldest pit to date. First spot was an old cabin site with just the foundation left. I found several cans here, many were prewar but no dumps or pits. Bummer. Last 2 spots were pull offs along the Baldwin river. I’ll have to revisit these spots, because there is a major hill at each that I sure as hell ain’t getting back up because of the ice! First pull off was rusty but not near as rusty as the 2nd. First pit at the 2nd has 2 Frankenmuth cones in it. By now I’m stoked! My oldest pit I’ve dug so far. So after finding that, I searched the area as carefully as I could. Found dozens of scattered flats and another pit loaded with strohs, pabst and Drewrys zips. Overall a great time in unusual weather and a great way to start the year!

Re: Operation winter storm
No known pfeiffer cans as of yet. Hopefully one of the stroh zips are an upgrade.

Re: Operation winter storm
Here’s my keepers so far. I’m pretty sure I have now dug all the Frankenmuth cone variations, or at least damn near it. The orange will look good next to my rootbeer twin. The rest were a Meister brau o/I, goebel extra dry, and some unidentifiable bulb top cone with a brownish cap seal panel
