Re: Back to the Goebel Dredged Lake. Many Cool Pics.
Figured I'd start out by the Picnic Tables. Walked way out to the edge or middle where the Bulldozers were digging a deep trench. Things started out good. Signals left & right. started digging in pulling out Budweisers & other common cans. Then I dig a Black & White RED FOX.

Re: Back to the Goebel Dredged Lake. Many Cool Pics.
Figured only a matter of time before I find a Regal. I get a good signal & dig out a rare Meadowdale Root Beer from Detroit. Then I see what looks like a Construction workers Truck pull up onto grass & beyond the Barricades. I think Uh ohhh. Could be trouble. I try to ignore him & go about my Business when I here him say Hey Sir, Whatcha doin over there. I say just looking for old cans. He sez Metal Detecting not allowed there. only allowed in Designated area's. I say Oh Ok, Didn't know. SO, I pack up my rare Gems I found, including Milk bottle & depressingly head out of the Mud all bummed out I was so close to finding a Regal & got Sabotaged.

Re: Back to the Goebel Dredged Lake. Many Cool Pics.
SO, Now what to do, Still early & nice sunny warm day. Did not want to head home defeated. SO, I say to myself hey, I can go dig throw the huge piles of dredged mud with out a detector & find something. SO I head to a huge dredged mud pile as big as a football field & probably 10 feet high in some spots. One of 2 spots as big as a football field. Last weekend the dredged mud was frozen so you could walk on top of it. With the warm weather past few day it started to unfreeze on top 6 inches but still frozed underneath that, so I walked out onto huge mud piles but the bad news is most the good stuff sunk under the mud.

Re: Back to the Goebel Dredged Lake. Many Cool Pics.
SO, I'm standing ontop of a big mud pile taking pic of a bottle in the mud when I see off to the side of it a concaved bottom sticking out of the mud, So I start to pull it out figuring probably a E&B when the mud starts to rip it apart, it comes out pretty mangled. Ends up it was a Green Red Cap cone. I'm sure Oliver would of Liked being there for that. LEON.

Not far from the cone was a muddy pile with lots of garbage in it. lots of Broken glass, bottles & a Black Label, Budweiser & Gold Pfeiffer. All pretty rough.

Found a few more bottles then hit the road. Bummer knowing there are tons of old cans & bottles buried in the mud but no good access to them. Gotta be a Regal hidden in there somewhere. LEON.

Any keeper photos, cans or bottles?
You are getting cans with some condition, much like we found at Lake Delhi. Then out pops the gem. All it takes is one good can or 12, or a case of Regal OI's!

The Goebels and Pfeiffers look pretty good. With that can cluster, I say your potential is as good as we found at Lake Delhi. That discolored Pfeiffer is one for shelf!
