Re: FALL DUMPING 2017.at yooperAHO'S
Thank you Mr. Aho for being a great host as usual! The digging on this trip was a bit slow, but I'm sure a goog time was had by all! We had the usual RBers, Lovegun, Beastof burden, Rusty Jonesin, and Conesplus, plus a first timer, Hover31. It was good to meet you Bjuorn! Maybe I spelled that wrong? Lol.

That Strohs zip was a nice surprise! I don't think there were any others in that dump, unless the other guys ended up with some.
I was lucky enough to dig my first Big Mac. She a bit bumpy, but I like her!

Back @ Jonny's !!
Another great time UP at Yooper Aho's , Greg and Patrick were already up there when the rest of us arrived Wednesday night.
Three days of digging, as Bob said, the digging was "a little slow" but we managed to come home with a few good cans.
It was the usual suspects and newbie hover31, Bjorn Hoverson. Bjorn, a natural at this, the first can he dug was a single face Stroh's Zip.!!
Bob your Big Mac cleaned up good, a proud dumper.
Here's a few of my pics. I was digging next to Bob in this dump, he dug his Big Mac then the two of us moved a stove base and under it I found a Big Mac also. This was a cool find, the third trip in a row UP here that I found some wooden spoke car wheels. Can you ID what car maker produced this rare wheel?... Wiley? a few more pics .....

Re: FALL DUMPING 2017.at yooperAHO'S
On Saturday Jon joined Neil, Rockbob, Bjorn and Me for a day of digging.
Drewry's Ale, this was a mystery can from the 30's dump where I dug the Royale J's and was a Great surprise coming out of the acid, of coarse I wish condition was better but thrilled to have dug it and have it on the shelf. Another great time digging and just hanging out with everyone.
Jon , Thanks again for another awesome Yooper adventure. When the Beer is ready let me know and will do it again. LOL
Till next time..
Here's to mud on your boots,
Rusty
We found this pretty good size ravine dump that if we had found it 20 years earlier we could have cornered the market on Silver Cream cones. There were hundreds of them in this dump , but most would crumble, I brought three home this is the only one with color. The Royale Pilsener , Bosh and the Embassy Club are upgrades the rest are new cans for the shelf. I have dumped a white Zing before this one is a different variation. I'm thrilled with the Big Mac but my most exciting find is the Patents PendingDrewry's Ale, this was a mystery can from the 30's dump where I dug the Royale J's and was a Great surprise coming out of the acid, of coarse I wish condition was better but thrilled to have dug it and have it on the shelf. Re: FALL DUMPING 2017.at yooperAHO'S
Excellent pics and cans, Rusty! Some of your pics took me right back UP nort- you really have a great eye and know how to capture the feeling of the great outdoors.
The j-spouts are awesome, we found a very small scattered dump with some lo-pro Blatz cones but not much else. Rockbob, Neil and I were having a powwow back at the truck with no sign of Rusty. He then emerges from the underbrush with the Royal Pilseners in his hands, we all grabbed our diggers and practically ran to the spot.
The soda can dump was exciting, lots of diets! I grabbed some early tabs and a couple earlier Grafs Milwaukee flattops. We were in that dump for way over an hour pulling out can after can, Jon found his own pile and scored a nice Zing. The ravine dump was huge, I stood at the bottom and claimed it looked like a tidal wave of cans- they just flowed down the thirty foot embankment. Rockbob was knee deep in toasty Silver Cream cones.
My favorite was the rock wall, hundreds of instant milk cans with some older beer cans mixed in. Neil had an armload of cones, I pulled out a couple mysteries(Grain Belt and a Fauerbach from my home turf, Madtown!) and a super-punched red Miller can. Can't wait 'til Spring! Bjorn

Re: FALL DUMPING 2017.at yooperAHO'S
I am too, I'm disappointed if we don't come across at least one. They make some cool rusty pics and enjoy researching them and figure out the make model and year. Here's a couple more pics of the car in the pine needles. a 1935 Chevy Master Deluxe. I don't recall ever hearing about Stevens-Duryea motor cars, I may have had some matchbox cars of these when I was a kid as I had a collection of these old time matchbox cars. It was fun figuring out what car this wheel came from and was kind of exciting to find out that it has a bit of prestige and rarity. Another fun part about romping around these remote places, we don't always find cans but some interesting history none the less.
The Duryea brothers are credited with building the first American made motor car. Never knew that, the company went on to build high end Luxury vehicles. The company lasted till around 1924
Thanks Jeff, I think that's my best can of the year..so far, hopefully we can hit that lake next weekend and score some cans. I know Bjorn's up for it as well
That's a sweet ride Ken, you still got it. Lets see some more pictures of it. Here's a couple more of the one in the field. I suppose I should end this post with some cans, Really digging all the soda cans we found nearly all came from the same dump.
Liken the Diet Graf sodas, Got five new ones this trip I already had the Cola and Root Beer Flavored the rest are new, I was ready to get rid of the orange soda at first, I didn't realize it was different than the Orange Flavored.
