Rosco

Post by bantam10 »

Been awhile since I got out. All these cans were dug east of I-75 which is new stomping grounds for me! I was around the Roscommon area all day and had several areas picked. I also managed to find a really clean 57 plate. The last spot of the day started slow but quickly turned into a frenzy. Large 60's pit with several late throw ins. Lots of variety and condition was good but most were dented. However I kept a lot because I don't have too many cans from this era on my shelf. I took to many scenery pictures as I was too busy digging so enjoy

Love the early Schlitz Malt Liquors I don't think I've seen the Pabst Fan Tabs that often.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

I've been around that area a few times. There's a ghost town nearby called Prairie DuChene. The Budweiser zip missing the Tab Top writing along bottom slightly oddball. LEON.

It's a fun area. Just like Baldwin area which is my neck of the woods. And yeah that bud is the late throw in. I also noticed a stroh zip in the group as well.

Thankfully they held up the best. And I noticed that about the pabst cans.

Nice finds and nice scenery!! Waiting for the brush and bugs to die down a little here.

Here's what I'm keeping so far. I soaked the mystery flats first as always. The RB is from July and has a label under it. The altes is a new can for my dumper shelf.

Only had these in for an hour or so and these turned out awesome! However I have to fix all the dents now. I don't find these era cans that often at all so virtually all of these are going on the shelf.

The Bud should be a first generation zip. It pre-dates the Tab Top label...not exactly an easy can to find. Nicely done!
