Not all of the items mentioned or shown on this thread are from my collection. Some of the photos I posted were obtained from other collectors, websites, catalogues, trade journals, and The Back Bar displays at Blue Gray.

For the most part, my list is made up of digital images, like those that I have posted and will continue to post here. Dunkelweizen, citing concerns about privacy and competition, declined my earlier invitation to share his list on this thread.

I am a current member of NABA, ABA and ECBA.
jwcans wrote:Do you consider OHIOCANSWANTED light a Cab Sign?
Since the ad lenses in the Kingsbury and Lion examples are not complete circles, the lights can’t be considered as “button lights.” Therefore I would consider them to be cab lights, of a sort, absent a more widely accepted label at this time. The label “cab light” was coined by collectors; it is based on the light’s shape being similar to the roof-top light displayed on early taxi cabs. To my knowledge, Gillco and Cincinnati Advertising Products never marketed their product as a “cab light”.

Gillco was located in Philadelphia, PA; C.A.P. was located in Cincinnati, OH. Perhaps this has something to do with why there are more cab lights seen from mid and eastern states than the western states. Or perhaps there were fewer breweries in western states. Notwithstanding, this Gillco example for Salem Beer comes from Oregon:

To my knowledge, a cab light for Sick’s has not surfaced. Time may tell if one was ever produced by either manufacturer.
