Donald Duck soda flat tops
Not beer cans but they are flats and rusty,
Im not really into soda cans but like the Donald Ducks.
I didnt dump any of these but I am pleased to
have 8 of them, I think all I need is the orange drink
can to have a type set.
Kinda a hard set to put togather, allmost 2 years of E bay searching and 2 trades to get this many, finally got the lemon lime this past week.
Seems the Cola and Lemon Lime have been the toughest to get.

That's quite an impressive set of flats! Be careful Dan...there's also alot of Donald Duck cones to be had. You might have to build yet another shelf. And when you get all those cones, you can start looking for the Donald Duck juice cans. Where does it all end?
Thanks for putting up the pic!

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

I've got a few Donald Duck cans too. Have not tried to complete a set though. The little cans are actually banks, that's another post altogether.

It's a Cont. Can Co. 4 code, small logo. I'd guess late 50's or early 60's. It's kinda cool since DD is winking.

nice group
Hi,
The orange drink is a pretty tough can to find. Are you going to collect the two variations? One with "contents..." and the other with "minimum contents..."
Best of luck,
Dave T

I collect one flavor of rare soda can generations. Also publish Collectible Soda Cans - don't hesitate to contact me with cans you have available or questions about old soda cans.

I've been following this thread and it really got me curious. I knew I'd dumped only one DD Orange something, and couldn't remember which. So I went and dug the can out...guess what?
Sort of surprised me, too, even though condition is lacking. A fair amount of fade, but the rust is probably nothing that a bucket of acid couldn't cure. Found it in the UP about 20 years ago.
So, anyway...there's Number Nine.

The Imatation strawberry can list ingrediants as
carbonated water, suger, artificial color, strawberry flavor,
citric acid, and less than 1/10 of 1% benzoate of soda.
The strawberry can list ingrediants as carbonated water, suger, citric acid, artificial color and flavor.
Maybe some FDA law made them include the Imatation on the label?
but than why arent there imitation grape, black cherry, and lemon lime cans?
They both sound pretty artificial to me.
I think I will go after both variations after I get a complete set,
might go after all the cones too.
Wheaton, thanks for posting the pic., I sent you a pm.

I have had the great privilege of dumping with 68 current and former Rusty Bunch members, to date. Got to hit the woods of Virginia with Charlie Smigo recently.

Donald Duct variations
Dan,
There are two variation of the flats and cone tops and may also be some color variations. I found a pink DD Grape FT instead of the dark purple. I thought it was a lidded cone but it's the smae hight as the flat tops and appears to be original. Here is a link to see the ones in my collection. http://www.conetops.com/gallery.php
Good Luck, Jim

We don't find Donald Duck cans in the Northwest. I still see too much of him though because a certain University down the road uses Donald for their official mascot. I'm not kidding, they have a deal with Disney. Dumbo or Goofy would have been more appropriate from the look of their uniforms.
OK Pokey and Boardman, it's your turn.
