Class Pilsner cans found?

#1

Post by Can Dr. »

Has any one heared of a off grade Class can being found, with a picture, and a couple others to be out there? I just got a call from Tommy Leo, and in our general conversation he asked me what I thought of the Class cans comming out.
I do not know the value of this information, but I thought this would be a good place to find out if it is true.

This has actually been one of the better kept secrets in this hobby. I've known about it for at least a month and was wondering when it would finally pop up here.

great news.... it is good to hear that somebody finally got some class...
with one on grade another in the 2 range and posably more in that find.
that would make the new england beer a rarer can. or in a class all by itself...ron

In KC Ted said he was planning to keep Wally's can- at least for the time being. I'm sure the number of digits in the asking price will stay the same.......

Dan- I have tried twice to send you a picture- did either get through?

As a new member with 1 post now does that get me on the leader board?

Thanks, Andy

I guess the real question is, have enough of them shown up to sufficiently affect the price? Adding 1 or 2 cans won't punch much of a dent in price, but 20+ might get it down to at least a possibility for some of us. I'd gladly settle for a grade 2 or 3. Who wouldn't? For example, if 10 are found (grade 1-2), what do we all think they'd sell for? 10k? 20K? More? Less?

Maybe someone should ask Ted Larsen to see if he got any more...guess its not in a "class" of its own anymore! He told me in KC that the Class can would be worth $250,000 + in a couple of years due to art collectors or such scooping up an one-of-a-kind collectible

probably knocked down to 5 digits now

ART collectors? Ted Larsen's counting on the art world to bail him out?

I believe that merits a LMAO.

I love hearing stories like this and am surprised that this many knew and kept it quiet. As someone new, I have to ask just why it was being kept secret in the first place. It sounds so sixth grade to me. Anyway, I too hope that there are a lot of them out there as quantity DOES matter when it comes to value. Congrats to whoever the happy hunter might be !

Hmmmm. I'm glad I kept my mouth shut. I've known for awhile as well.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?
