I'm not sure if all of these cans have this, but I don't recall seeing it in the past.....

What is the city it was filled? Newark or Peoria Heights?

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

My shelfer has PD and was brewed in Peoria Hts.
The withdrawn free variation I have has no initials along the seam.

John, is your Keglined (American Can Co.) or with no Keglined (Continental)?

Chris - it was filled at Milwaukee, so I guess that's what the M stands for. The cans were found in West Texas recently.

Mine is also the "Full Flavor Blended" version instead of the "It's Blended It's Splendid" one. Maybe that makes a difference??

John -M = Milwaukee was just a wild *** guess. Assuming M, N & P stand for the brewery location then the D & E are still a little confusing. In some cases it seems the D or E is before and in some cases the D or E is after the other letters....

My "Full Flavor blended" only list Peoria Heights and Milwaukee (as pictured above), while my "It's blended It's splendid" can (marked PD - a Peoria heights - Domestic can) also list Newark.

Ergo....kruegerbock's theory
N = Newark,
P = Peoria Heights,
M = Milwaukee,
D = Domestic, and
E = Export
can be applied to the later “It’s blended It's splendid" design, while the earlier "Full Flavor blended" design does not yet utilize the canning code.

Now, does anyone have a "Full Flavor blended" can with the coding to disprove this theory???

I'm waiting for Prewar to come up with the answer. He's a genius with this stuff.

I was a security guard at the brewery back around 1980. Wish I'd known, I would filed thru their records....

To add to this, the Goebel Extra Dry Withdrawn Free with the 68-A "Diamond" symbol has a large "E" near the seam, which several of us have attributed to meaning "export."

I must have about 30 variations of this can between the Mil., Peoria, and Newark divisions along with many WF versions from Mil & Peoria. As you've said, some with ND, PD, MD, DM, ME. Some w/no lettering but the keg. panel, some with lettering and keg panel, some w/lettering and no keg. panel but with Pabst in blue script, some w/no lettering but w/the Pabst in blue script..... I keep picking up all the different side-seam variations in both IRTP and Non-IRTP over the years because I'm curious as to how many of these different babies are out there (whatever floats one's boat, right? ;) I too believe the N for Newark, M for.... With D for domestic (or division?) and E for export.
