SPRING THAW / BG Table Volunteers

#1

Post by Sea Monkey »

If going to BG/ST, Please help support your Rusty Bunch club by Volunteering to take a sift(s) in the RB hospitality room.

No experience needed!

We will be selling raffle tickets, punch board punches, selling T-shirts and renewing memberships. Nothing overly difficult.

Please volunteer for a time slot below and I will add it to the master list.
We need 2 people per shift

I will be there to help in any way I can. Coming to Blue Gray / Spring Thaw this year? Volunteer for an hour shift. We are a strong chapter because our members continue to help out where they can. Keep us strong by putting in your time.

I'm considering making the journey to the show this year, however this may depend on the level of tyranny/removal of freedoms attendees will be required to submit to.

Can anyone provide information on this?

Recently the governor of Texas removed all mask mandates and all restrictions on businesses. I saw a video of a woman who went into a bank to withdraw her money, and they called the police on her and had her arrested because the bank had it's own policy that all who enter must be masked.

This leaves several questions that need to be answered:

Is there language written into the contract with the venue requiring all participants to wear masks at all times? Per CDC guidelines, does said language if it exists allow for medical exemptions from mask wearing?

Is the BCCA as a private group going to require mask wearing as a condition to entry? Will the BCCA allow for medical exemptions from mask wearing per CDC guidelines?

The hosting venue as a private entity, will they be requiring mask wearing at all times as a condition of being on their property? Will they allow for medical exemptions as per CDC guidelines?

For those of us on the fence about attending, the thought of the "Mask police" continually chastising us every time a mask is removed could certainly be a deal breaker, and as such definitive answers to the above questions need to be provided before a decision is made.

I'm not sure what the hotel is requiring but the SHOW itself and by extension the RB is REQUIRING mask wearing. If someone has a medical issue that a mask is not suitable, maybe a face shield or something similar would be a better option. Social distancing is suggested but to be honest I don't see that being a reality. It is up to the individual to decide if this situation will work for them.

The bottom line is that masks / shields will be REQUIRED regardless of what the VA Governor dictates (if less stringent) prior to the show. Nobody wants to be militant about it and would hope everyone would try to comply on their own. Everyone wants to safely finally enjoy a show. I don't foresee any issues. It should be a great time!

Please PM me if anyone needs further clarification...

Come on guys, it is fun and you will get to meet the people you interact with on the board. It is nice to be able to put faces to names and it really helps the club. It is only an hour and I guarantee it will be the fastest hour of the show.

Well I see getting volunteers to help out hasn't changed much over the years. C'mon step up and help out. Too many takers, far fewer givers.
