Green Bay Trade Show April 23, 2021 - April 24, 2021
Titletown Trade-A-Thon 40 – Sponsored by Packer and Badger Bunch Chapters
April 23, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - April 24, 2021 @ 5:00 pm CDT
Everything seems still a go according to emails sent out for this show.
I for one am seriously looking forward to going. It will be my first show in a while. I think since Packnic last August which was a partial outside show.
Tables will be spread out and masks will still be required from what I hear so far.

Re: Green Bay Trade Show April 23, 2021 - April 24, 2021
I'm thrilled to see in person shows starting to happen again. Luck-of-the Irish show in Cincinnati (technically across the river in KY) happening in a few weeks as well.
Amazing how different things were last year. Sometimes you don't know what you have until it's gone (as the saying goes). So true!

Re: Green Bay Trade Show April 23, 2021 - April 24, 2021
I'm going to try to set up a SKYPE table for Don Lewinski (specks169) with his cans there.
That way people can sit and chat with him a bit and he can still sell a few cans.
My son Carl and I are already looking forward to it. I decided to hold off selling on ebay and bring all my flats and cones to the Trade A Thon in Green Bay. Hope to see some RBrs there!

I’d be interested in Minnesota cans. Let me know what you have and we could make deal before with delivery at TAT.zoinkss wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 12:38 pm I'm going to try to set up a SKYPE table for Don Lewinski (specks169) with his cans there.

Is Springfest a good can show? I know Guzzle and Twirl is but I have never went to this one and have to run up to Stillwater to pick up a chair one of these Saturday's anyway.
I plan on going to the Green Bay show unless the weather is bad, I was last year too but that didn't work out of course.

Springfest is a mostly can show but much much smaller than TAT and Guzzle, being held in half of a VFW building. With table spacing for Covid this year probably even smaller. Good number of walkthrus though.
I'll be a RB'er at TAT also. Usually a fair number of MN guys traveling to Green Bay. I also buy a can or two from Don and Cindy so thanks Zoinkss for helping Don out.

Order a Pastie, sit down and enjoy it and then you'll be fluent in the Yooper language and the Yooper culture.......
and no we aren't talking nipple pasties although with @YooperAho involved one would certainly think so....
We're talking about those infamous Yooper pasties......

@MI-Cans and @zoinkss I queried about the chance of a photo box being there at the TAT but have not heard that one would be there.
I'll check again.

@zoinkss This was the response from Mike Newton - "Going to TAT, but I was not planning on taking the box this year. We have still yet to take a look at our schedules and determine when and where we will take the boxes for this year as so many shows are still in "pencil."

I have several cans for the photo box. I have also sold a few to several collectors who said they would bring them if the box was there.
If all goes well I will have a few of my home brew kegs there.
I cannot stress how much I have missed this show!
I have memories of my Dad and Specks169 and a few others at the Green Bay TAT show. This show has always epitomized the reason we collect beer cans and beer advertising.
There is not a lot of room to room at this show for buying but the show itself Friday and Saturday as well as the people who share the hobby there are the nicest in the hobby. There is always a great amount of cans both shine and rust and good amount of signage.
For some reason when I see all the jamborees in the movies when the trappers in the midwest would get together once a year... that is what I think of this show. Always fun and always a great memorable time.

Re: Green Bay Trade Show April 23, 2021 - April 24, 2021
I am attending this show for the first time. I see one poster mentioned there is not much room-to-room. Is that the overall feeling among TAT regulars?
I am asking because this will help shape what and how much I bring to the show. What other hints for this particular show are there (I already have my Hawaii shirt packed)? What time can table-holders access the trade floor on Friday?
I have been to many other shows over the years, and I know each have their own quirks. It is just nice to know the 'lay of the land' beforehand.
I am very excited to attend my first show since the 'Freeze your Can' show in February of 2020 (just before Covid started to lay waste..)The auctions have been fun to watch but frustrating as a buyer (but good for the sellers!), and I never seem to remember the RB on-line shows, except for on the Mondays after.....

Re: Green Bay Trade Show April 23, 2021 - April 24, 2021
They Hyatt Green Bay is a GREAT hotel. The rooms are all suites.
I think it would be a great room to room hotel but its not pushed. Thursdays are relaxing and some collectors do show up and walk around with beers, sit by the pool/jacuzzi and go out for beers at the nearby Title Town brewery and a few other brewery and bars closeby walking distance.
Friday noon is setup and they have a nice area for short term loading with about 15 spots and multiple doors.
The area for loading is between the two hotels. Drive around behind the Hyatt to come to the loading area.
They are usually pretty strict on opening doors for setting up tables at noon. I've seen guys show up and park and get their loads stacked up very early though. Don't know how it will be this year with the masks being still mandatory. There will be some Pabst collectors selling Pabst masks. I saw them last night.
Everything you need is at the hotel if you want. Great restaurant with good burgers and there are a lot of choices for pizza and other food for delivery.
I don't usually depend on the hospitality room for beer or food. I don't think I have been in the hospitality room since my father last went with me.
I like chatting in the bar and rooms with the collectors or if I am with my boys, we are watching a movie or in the pool.
Getting there early gets you a parking spot in the hotel parking. If you are late arrival, you may have to park in the structure across the street and walk across the walkway or across the road. people with trailers should not take up two spots if possible. There is parking on the roads as well for trailers if you need to access your trailers. In the back there are some spots that are usually taken up early because there is an access door in the hall that leads right to the back. Cans plus usually parks out there.
A lot of guys come early to speak to the early birds and see what they carry in. A lot of deals are made just from seeing what is on your cart.
Don't let me discourage you from opening your room on Thursday night and having people stop by for a beer. I don't think the show sponsors discourage room to room. It just was never promoted as one of those shows.
This was always my dad's and my favorite show mostly because of the people and collectors. in general I believe beer can collectors are fun and sharing people. This show was always a great rust and shine show. It has become a great place for signs and other stuff as well. The draw for dealers is from the whole midwest. Minn, Iowa, Mich, Illinois, Indiana primarily... and Canada of course.
The raffle is really the best in the world as far as Im concerned. There are usually 2 $100 gift certs for rooms and loads of signs, cans, Green Bay Packer items even a Wienie Roaster and of course a vacation package for Hawaii. There are some full beer items and gift certs for breweries as well. Never know what you will win. They go all out for the raffle.
Bring your Waukesha Beer, soda and water items for me!
cya there.

Re: Green Bay Trade Show April 23, 2021 - April 24, 2021
Spent the day getting ready for TAT Green Bay Show. Taking 8 Totes for myself and 3 totes for Specks169.
Anyone who wants to skype Don tomorrow, he will be at the show virtually! I will take some pics of his cans and you can skype him and work a deal.
Bjorn came over and watched me slave over a tub of acid and some great cans.
can you see the Red Wing Cone in the stack?

I got to hold that Red Wing. I’ll be hitting the road shortly, heading towards GB. Ziphippie
