Graf's rubout
I picked up a large collection 2 weeks ago and been quit a chore getting through it. I’m guessing about 5000 cans. Lots of aluminum and common steel, but I did find some real jewels. There are many upgrades and variations that will be added to my collection. Probably around 200 cans. I’ll post some pictures once I get the cans cleaned up. Anyway, there were 4 Grafs soda flat top, so last night I decided to see if any were paint overs. 3 had nothing, but 1 has what I think is a pretty good can.. thanks. Steve

Re: Grafs runout.
Yep that’s a dandy. Only known as a zip top though.

Re: Grafs runout.
I assume this rub out is a flat? If so, does that make this a newly discovered can??!!

Re: Grafs rub out.
The can manufacturer printed the Graf's brand on left over, unused, unsold or spoiled, rejected flat sheets, which in this case never went into production as a beer can filled with Goebel beer.
It is real and does exist but only as a runout or rub out if it is a flat top.
My 2 cents.

Re: Grafs runout.
In my book the flat is not a new can. But it is the first time I have heard on the chicken less Goebel be a rub out can. So it may be a new rub out.

Re: Grafs runout.
The Grafs was a flat, but the Goebel was only produced as a zip.. I will proudly display it in my tab collection.
