This article was in a 1983 BCCA News Report and I didn't see Mirachem 250 mentioned here. No idea of the capabilities to at least clean up tops and bottoms of cans......Bob Schlegel is referenced in the article but he was never a RBer......

Mirachem 250 is still available. It's active ingredient is phosphoric acid. I would not recommend it. I suspect metallic cans would suffer from exposure to it. It would rinse away freely, though. But, if you use it, protect yourself from the fumes.

I'm familiar with phosphoric acid and it would definitely would be a no-no. We had to move it in stainless steel pipe because it would eat ferrous metal very quickly.
