A commissioned piece of Rusty Bunch artwork....a classic

#1

Post by keithker »

Patrick @Beastofburden asked me to share this image with fellow RBers. He commissioned an artist to make it for him. It includes all fellow RBers he has ever dumped with. It includes @tomcd62, @kamsquared, @hover31, @conesplus, @Beamer, @Longopener, @canaddict, @idigrust, @Rusty Jonesin, @ANGRY GARY, @YooperAho, @Rockbob and @Lovegun and @nano1956

As one can expect...it has been an honor to dig with many featured in the artwork.....

That is freaking amazing. Way way cool. Love it. What a neat way to commemorate past dumping trips with the guys you went digging with.
Thanks. Dave

That is awesome! I wonder 100 years from now what art historians will think a Kamsquared, hoover31 or "canaddict" were.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

What a fantastic idea!
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Thanks to everyone for the comments. I met Beast of Burden and several of the Rusty Bunch guys a few years back when I drove down to the Michigan Peninsula to dump cans at Yooperaho's . Last spring Patrick ,Beast of Burden, drove up to my place in Minnesota to do some dumping. He asked me to create the dumping piece after he saw the many pieces of artwork that I was creating for my little Northwoods art business, pieces where I had incorporated dumped beer cans and license plates. Beast of burden was very specific about having user names incorporated into the piece and he also sent a box of items he had dumped to be included. I added some material from my stash of rust and such. In a true joint effort we had many conversations about the content and details. Thanks again to Patrick for the inspiration and opportunity to create the piece. Tom

@tomcd62 I was unaware that you were the one that built the piece. The BCCA has expressed an interest in doing a small article on the piece. Might have to get some details from you and Patrick on your thoughts on what inspired the items you guys included.
