Iroquois Indian Head Ale - tougher version?

#1

Post by rusteditor »

This is a perfect topic for KB, but I'd love to hear other opinions as well. I finally landed the blue high profile version when I stumbled onto an ebay auction about to end last night. I've had the low profile version for years and have seen more low profiles than high profile. So I'm curious, which is tougher? Thoughts?

ok, tried to think of some info... since I dont really hit many big shows or shop for cans anymore, I can only give some light info... I think I have seen the LP for sale alot more than the HP's... around 2008 AG found a dump with both Beer and Ale HPs, in CAroga Lakes area of sotuhern ADKs and ,Babel was able to make a return trip there with AG And got a few of each and Dave gave me a HP Ale. After that I believe I Read in an old Rustlings your uncle Davey dug some in the Binghamton NY area , not sure if they were HP or LPs... I dug a gr 6 LP ALe just 10 mins from house and thats all I think I know of the Ales.. Now we know a few of us dug 5 nice HP Beers a few yrs back - thanks Dave Reid, Dwigth and some conehead guy.. But in general I have seen more of both HP and LP Beers for sale etc than the Ales. Buffalo must of been a BEER city even prior to WWII compared to rest of the North East.

I've seen way more LP ales than HP's over the years. The dump KB is talking about was a real fun one to dig. I wonder if anyone ever went back being i don't think we finished it completely.

I have seen ongrade blue low profiles over the years but not the blue highn profiles . A modest number of indoor offgrade ones were found a number of years ago. tom

I have dug the Iroquois HP Ales in the Adirondacks a few [actually many] years back. I do not have a LP Ale cone in my collection but that does not answer the question of which is tougher, HP or LP.
