Do you think this Fox Deluxe flat was rolled?

#1

Post by pinnacle-project »

I just received this Fox Deluxe flat in the mail today. Normally, Chicago is out of my collecting focus but I make an exception for Fox Deluxe.

Prior to buying this can, I thought it might have been rolled. Now that I have it in hand, I think there is still a chance but I really do not know. Either way, it is a beautiful can with a great vanity lid.

What do you think? Was it rolled?

This can is factory rolled, you can tell by the three solder notches on the seam. The crappy solder is because of uncleansed solder brushes on the canning line.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing. I circled them here in this pic for Bryan. I did have Chuck Foster tell me he could put those dimples on my seam when rolling a can for me, I told him no, wouldn't look right on a 1940 j-spout. LEON.
