Here's a new one for the books. I just picked this up recently and thought I would share.
I'm not really sure what this alcohol statement means. Thoughts? Maybe I'm not the only one and that's why they aren't around. Anyone else ever seen anything else along these lines (weird alcohol statement)?
The canning code is also one I have not seen before. 52-4 CBV.

What's a Centum, I looked it up in the Dictionary & I need the Definition defined. Remember I'm a Caveman. LEON.

per•cent′al, adj. usage: percent is derived from per cent., an abbreviation in English of per centum, a phrase borrowed directly from Latin.

@Leon Do a search for per centum and alcohol and you'll be heading in the right direction....

Re: Awkward Alcohol Statement, Old Style Cone Top
Jim,
I've never seen anything like this! My guess would be that someone at the brewery who had to deal with State alcohol regulators worded it as a big CYA. I would be interested to hear Matt Menghini, Neil K. and Candog's take on this. Yet another reason to turn over every cone, no matter how common the brand!

Re: Awkward Alcohol Statement, Old Style Cone Top
I have always found the "alcoholic strength" wording on the strong version of the early FBIR Old Style's to be pretty funny, they were looking out for us even way back then. Did those 2 words show up together like that on other cans?

Re: Awkward Alcohol Statement, Old Style Cone Top
Well, this is a new (and VERY WEIRD) variation for me.
That is the strangest alcohol wording I can recall, even for Heileman. The canning code is new to me also.
Never seen or heard of a company that wanted everyone to know that there is "exactly" 4% alcohol, (my suspicion is that it was "just a little over" 4%).
Must have had something to do with the Heileman legal department, making sure whatever state it went to, it was NOT considered "strong" beer.
I wonder what state it went to?
That is my guess.
Neil
