Alpine chalk figure from Fox Deluxe Grand Rapids

#1

Post by pinnacle-project »

Below is a picture of my Alpine chalk from Fox Deluxe - Grand Rapids. The bottle on my chalk is original to the chalk. These bottles are really difficult to find so often when you see these chalks for sale, they have the dark bottle pictured below instead.

As you can see, the correct bottle originally had a sticker on the back. Mine is quite damaged but I believe it said something similar to "Does not contain beer. For display purposes only."

I would like to see what the label really looked like in its entirety. Does anyone have a bottle with this label? If so, can you post a picture?

Thanks in advance.

Hmm . . . I knew the "Display Purposes Only" bottle was tough but I thought somebody here would have a picture of one. Maybe everyone is just busy.

I'm not sure if the BCCA mag had photos of the back of the bottles. There is a article, written by Dr. Foley, dedicated to the Grand Rapids/ Fox De Luxe brewing Co.

I sent him an e-mail last night. I have never seen his collection, but understand it is pretty impressive, so I am hoping he has one.

Good article by Kevin and some nice pictures. BCCA 2004 article shows two different chalk statues but only front of the bottles.
