My Dilemma

#1

Post by Jim Romine » Sat Jul 20, 2019 3:57 pm

.....it's a nice one to have. I picked up the Silver Stock on the left at the Charlottesville show (Thanks, Candog!) as an upgrade over the right hand can, but now I can't decide.
The right is overall cleaner, but a bad hole in the front. The left has a hole on the side.
Which would you keep?

Bad holes should be on the backside, and often they are.

I'd keep the one on the left.

Right but it's easy to see how someone might pick the one on the left.

How about you simply get rid of both of them and then call Gene Judd and buy his super minty one?
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Can on the right- for the clearer view of the graphic and nice font on the name. The more clean surface, the better, even if the overall grade might be the same.
Better to drive 950 miles and kick asz than go a thousand miles and get nothing.

I'd keep the one on the left, but it's a close call. As you say, it's a darn nice dilemma to have!

So far sounds like the right side is winning.

Yeah, it does, Leon, but the split is interesting. I'm still not convinced one way or the other.
BUT, I'd trade one to anybody, your pick, for a Silver Dime J!
