Narragansett Test Cans with Stripes

#1

Post by HiNeighbor »

We were able to add a second stripe test can to the collection recently. Thought you might like seeing it as I don't think it's pictured anywhere (but I could be wrong)

Included is a photo of what the brewery used for production. White dots vs. stripes

I'm betting there is a striped Ale lurking out there somewhere.

You never kmow! The Ale next to the stiped cans is a test can. It has the 12 oz. mark at the bottom of the can where the production can never had that

I love the striped Gansett - remember seeing it when Mike F originally got it. Think Ed Ackerman can. He was a nice guy.
Here is the Falstaff - I seek an upgrade but glad to have an example!

yup, thats the falstaff I'm looking for. Thanks for the history of the Gansett can. It is now in a happy home surrounded by all of its Rhode Island buddies where it won't be sold again, at least until I'm dead anyway

Nice addition, Greg. We have the 12 oz vertical stripes...any others out there? I think the pint is unique. Keith

They never were filled and are rolled sheets. "Test cans" is probably not the correct term that so many of these cans are given as they never went out into test markets. Probably a better term would be prototypes

Hey Keith! It's the only 16 oz that I know of but you never know. Finally added the yellow ships can along with it, then bit the big bullet and picked up the OI BEER from Dan Morean. Hope all is well. Are you getting up here any time soon? If you do, give me a call and swing by
