crown can Dunk’s
OMT was looking for a top-opened Dunks, so I’ve been checking and they are not easy to find. Found one today, upon further inspection I notice the crown seal and pear shaped opening on the top lid plus a different Fischer bottom vanity. I didn’t have this can, it showed up in a small collection- two trash bags from a friend of the wife cleaning out her garage. Very nice of her to deliver some cans this morning! She thanked me and apologized to my wife. Just digging in- Ziphippie

Basically, people should look in every 25 cent box and every “common” collection because there’s lots of sleepers or formerly unknown variations out there.
It would be great to have a master list of common cans that were actually filled at other breweries. For instance, I have a common aluminum Red White and Blue that was filled at Frankenmuth. (Dave VanHine procured one from the Heimann brewery in Frankenmuth signed by the brewmaster for the first case filled there ). I imagine lots of brands are filled at local national breweries even though the mandatory doesn’t indicate the filling station. For instance, The Miller Brewery in Trenton, OH is filling Hamm’s and Steel Reserve this week. Could open up a whole new batch of cans for shelves of specialists who want every Can brand filled at a particular brewery.

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

The Miller plant at Trenton Ohio serves the northeast USA with the Miller and Pabst brands such as Hamm's, Ballantine, Schlitz, Old Milwaukee, National Bohemian, Colt 45 and others. Cans have an inkjet spray on the bottom with an alphabet letter followed by '08' to indicate Trenton.Longopener wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2019 1:19 am Basically, people should look in every 25 cent box and every “common” collection because there’s lots of sleepers or formerly unknown variations out there.

I look for these inkjet variations that indicate the plant, however they do fade away after time, so that there would be no evidence of the brewing and filling plant left to remain.
