The magic of Krylon Workable Fixatif
I’ve mentioned before how this spray gets rid of “hazing” on cans, etc. Thought you would like to see picture proof. Below are before and after pics of an Iron City cone I picked up at Spring Thaw at a very attractive price due to the “film” on a good portion of the can. The good thing about this spray is that it does not put a sheen on cans like most clear-coats do since it isn’t a clear coat spray. It’s actual use is for artists to keep charcoal drawings from smudging. A light coating of this stuff on this can brought this baby back to life! Pretty amazing!

Those gotta be different cans? The results are just short of amazing. I'm going to Walmart shortly. Thank for posting Steve!
Thanks. Dave

It also does wonders when you have a can that paint is flaking off. It holds the paint in place forever.

Re: The magic of Krylon Workable Fixatif
Should mention that since this stuff is intended to be used by artists, I find it at Michael’s or Hobby Lobby, not Walmart, although I have never looked there. Should have mentioned that in my original post

Re: The magic of Krylon Workable Fixatif
Fascinating.
I'll have to find a can to experiment with it on. Prior to using it on something good that is. Interesting that there is no residual shine/gloss like polyurethane and such. Not my thing.
Great results on the Iron City. You just spray it on and that's it?

Flats, cones & early tabs. Ohio cans, ultra clean cans & shine. East coast cans. Rare rust. And, whatever else catches my eye.

Yes, just apply it like you would standard spray paint in a sweeping motion. Very easy

Re: The magic of Krylon Workable Fixatif
Here’s another example. Not quite as dramatic as the Iron City, but noticeable improvement.

Re: The magic of Krylon Workable Fixatif
I took a chance on a low-pro "Can O Beer" that had similar condition issues, first gave it a over-night lemon juice soak then a good bath in warm soap and water, allowed it to thoroughly dry, then used "Goo Gone" which removed all of the hazy condition, then used a polishing compound on it to shine and clean it even more, I think it came out pretty nice, before and after.
