I was out looking in Illinois and upper Wisconsin this week. Must have stopped at more than 20 rummages, estate sales and antique places.
The Schlitz can is from a collector in Wisconsin who got it from a brewery worker at Schlitz. He was an older collector and dated all his cans and who he got them from. What is neat besides dating the can so we know when exactly the test can came out, it has another test label underneath. Sort of a paper rub out...
The Sun Drop decal is the same age as the sign. 40s war years when sugar was low so they were advertising as a substitute for coffee. Notice she is sitting in the coffee cup?
The silver watch traveling shot glass was very cool. The can is a 1939 National Beer Wholesalers Association drinking mug.
The Ziegler sign is pretty clean as well. Vernor's Ginger Ale Cooler as well. Not a lot in cans but a fun trip while the family is away.

Curious, why would Schlitz put a paper label dated 1954 on a 1978 pull tab? LEON.

Cool Ziegler’s sign in the first pic. Is that original or a repop?

Re: Finds this week & Schlitz paper test can OVER another test
Ziegler is a original.
The man I got the schlitz can from knew the woman from the brewery. He dated all his cans when he drank them and put names on the bottoms of where he got them. Thats all he could tell me. Its killing me not to be able to pull the schlitz label off and see the other label underneath. Its like an itch under a cast. I broke my arm in the army and finally broke the cast so I could scratch the itch.
The Vernons ice chest is really nice. Found it at a "Man Stuff" Rummage. Definitely for trade or sale for something Waukesha if you have it.
