Who is going to the ABQuquerque CANvention?

I know not all RBer's who are going to the ABQ CANvention will see this poll, but would like to get a rough head count of how many will be at the RB Meeting. How many showed up in Omaha for the RB meeting there? Just a thought, instead of pizza I'm thinking about going with the local flavor of Blake's Lotaburger - Green Chile Cheeseburgers instead of pizza. I could have a Blake's catering truck come instead of ordering a bunch of pizzas. When Dale & I come back from digging in New Mexico, we always stop at a Blake's (or sometimes on the way to dig) to finish off a great day with a Lotaburger! You need both hands to eat it!

Looks like a great idea but unfortunately, I will not be there to share in this meal. Going with something local when traveling is always a great idea. Why eat at an restaurant that is just like the one at home?

@Cap-Sealed I would say we likely had something around 50 at the meeting.....always a good turn out from the best members in any Chapter....

@idigrust I counted heads on the Omaha photo that is posted up on the RB Facebook page and there is nearly 50 people in the photo.

Just left Albuquerque after a stay for a conference. I was only after Neuvo Mexican food more or less. For under $10 a head Garcia's on Central was great! For meals in the 15-20 range mostly -go to the Albuquerque Inn- the food was INCREDIBLE. ALL CAPS does not truly indicate how good it was.

Only got to hit 1 antique store and 1 used book store- only saw a pair of embossed bottles (I did not want to fly with) for interesting breweriana... found a bunch of nice little advertising and ephemera with Native Americans on it for surprisingly cheap.

Flying in from Aussie on the 19th Aug. Doing some driving along another section of Route 66, up to Grand Canyon. Then Pheonix Tucson Silver City and back up to Albuquerque. Plenty of scenery and more casinos to add to my collection of $5 casino chips from casinos I have visited.

Things are really looking good for the ABQ CANvention. The BCCA was guessing that ABQ would have low numbers like Portland, OR did but they are pleasantly surprised that ABQ is blowing the Portland numbers out of the water. (BTW - I had a blast in Portland!) The first block of rooms was sold out and they added another and that sold out too. In Portland, you could only reserve one table, not so here in ABQ. Less than 3 months away! Yeah Buddy!

I didn't think I would be able to swing it, but the stars aligned and I will be making it to Albuquerque. It's probably going to cost me my fall dumping trip but I'm looking forward to helping my rusty brothers out with the chapter duties. I'll be there Thursday afternoon and leaving Sunday.
