Old labels/brands making a comeback?

#1

Post by John H. »

Recently, I found the Alvarado brewing company was putting out Monterrey beer using the same label that was on the old cone top put out by Monterrey brewing. Now I've seen the old Blue & Gold label once put out by Grace Bros (or North Bay) showing up on another beer from them. I've also seen the older Happy Hops logo now on a bottle from Russian River brewing. I find it interesting to see these old labels now showing up on current craft beers. Will it continue? Might we see the return of Clipper Pale or other classic labels? How do you all feel about the return of these labels & cans? They're certainly not Ditto cans as these all have craft beer in them. Maybe it might spark a new generation of people to start collecting, wouldn't that be something?

Yes, but if somehow just 5 people in each state would take up collecting and join the BCCA and other organizations (chapters, etc) that could make a significant difference in the hobby. Not a life-changing difference, but a noticeable bump to our hobby.

@John H.

You might find this topic of interest. https://www.therustybunch.com/phpBB3/vi ... 54#p380954

I put together a whole bunch of old brands. Then people chimed in with their opinions. And it was somewhat settled that just the brand should not be Retro but the can images themselves should also resemble the vintage can. That's where it left off. I'm sure more have surfaced since that post.
