What IS This?

Dear Friends,

I just bought this from a guy today. It is 9 x 3.5 inches and made of steel. Is it to label a keg? Please let me know your thoughts on this.

It IS to label a keg. The tack-weld them onto a new keg, or over the previous brewery's engraved info when the kegs are sold. Might make a nice hood ornament.
Better to drive 950 miles and kick asz than go a thousand miles and get nothing.
