Re: GOOD START TO 2019
So, exactly how tough is the Keeley Beer 87-19? Judging by the absolute beauty of the others and this one being pretty far off-grade, got to be a real tough can, right? I certainly don't have one …

Re: GOOD START TO 2019
Flattop....need about 9 Chicago flats and one cone. Very soon I will be left with the impossible ones and then start on the series cans. This should carry me into my old age and they are attainable but up to now I thought they were to expensive given the amount out there.

Re: GOOD START TO 2019
Beer canpete.....good question on the Keeley. I was told there are 3-4 out there. One ongrade, one 3+ and the train wreck one of mine you see pictured. Hopefully, some Chicago guys chime in with more info.

Re: GOOD START TO 2019
Hey Mike, Wow nice upgrades - sweet Manhattan Ale
On the Keeley beer flat, you would think that there would be a beer cone like that out there as well?
and the sweet Keeley lager beer cone you have, how tough is that can? The book gives it a higher value than the beer flat you have.
I have the lager cone, dumped It in WI back in the spring of 2014. It was a mystery can, I saw a little of the maroon paint showing, thought maybe a Milwaukee Club. I was sure surprised and delighted to see this come out of the acid.
I was told it's the toughest can in my humble little collection. How tough is this Chicago can?

Re: GOOD START TO 2019
No I have never seen that Keeley beer flat, maybe Capsealed Ed S. has one? If Phil Pospychala is at the Super Bowl Show this weekend I will try and get his thoughts about that can.ILLINICANS wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 6:30 pm Rusty Jonesin.....its about 800.00 tough. Here's my Keeley cans, from a dumping perspective, I've found the Half & Half on several occasions but the others just the one time.

Steve, when I said the keeley cone top was 800.00 tough, I meant that's what MINE cost me. I would appreciate any info on the flat top that you can find out at the show.

Re: GOOD START TO 2019
Mike,
Awesome can & verrrry tough label! Am guessing 6-12 are tied up in collections. I’m aware of 5. The best one I have seen was rumored to come out of wall at Soldier Field ? - the others I’ve seen were dumpers. Mine looks like a “lake find” as the seam appears to have eroded.

Re: GOOD START TO 2019
Woodgrain Keeley flat top from Keeley Brewing Company, USBC 87-19. There's a clean one pictured in Phil's "Great Chicago Beer Cans" book (black & white photo, circa 1979) . . . This could be the same can or he might still have it (meaning there's another on-grade example).

Re: GOOD START TO 2019
Some Chicago set cans are attainable and some are VERY hard to find (read Beercan Pete's outstanding article, "The Joy of Sets" in the Nov/Dec 2018 issue of Beer Cans & Brewery Collectibles).ILLINICANS wrote: ↑Wed Jan 30, 2019 12:23 am Flattop....need about 9 Chicago flats and one cone. Re: GOOD START TO 2019
Facebook Don (formerly known as "Meister Brau Don") would be a good person to speak with regarding MB set cans. Also some other very knowledgeable individuals named in this post. Don't forget the Peter Hand Reserve cans (2 sets) and Chicago Drewry's set cans, as well.
I will call you "collect" . . .
