Most Wanted Cans

Post by MI-Cans »

As most of you do or should know, the BCCA books that most of us rely on are being updated. (No, there won’t be a new printing.) The Supplements, as they’re called, are being added to daily. Over 5,000 cans now posted on Volume I, over 4,000 on Volume 2 and over 23,000 in the Current Cans Database (referred to by some as Volume III.)

The original images were single pictures of just the front of the can. The updated images are groups of 5 pictures, one of each side and the top. This allows any variations to be displayed and documented.

The BCCA just issued a “Wanted List”. This list is an ongoing record of cans that they only have one picture of and have been unable to track down the same cans for the group of images to be taken. Whether you belong to the BCCA or not, I’m sharing this here because what they’re doing is for the good of the Hobby and those of us who enjoy it.

I just checked out the repaired link and saw the Big Cat Malt Lager. I know there are better examples of that can. Let's get the RB to pitch in!
The federal tax code is 10 times bigger than the Bible with none of the good news
Brewed in the Heart of the Snowclad Rockies
Looking for Lucky Lager with the date 2-3-58. Will trade heavy for one...

We're looking for the best examples we can find...and some of the can's we've posted to the website still need upgrades. We will try to get the photo boxes out to as many shows as possible this year, including Blue Gray, Spring Thaw, CANvention, and more....

Every time I think about the size and scope of this project my mind starts to go numb. Hats off to those of you making this happen day in and day out. Thank you!

Do we know how many new cans have been added to Volume I & II? Not total pics, but cans that did not appear in the original books.

The Brown Derby by Pittsburgh is a misprint and should not be in the USBC listing to begin with. Its presence has frustrated many a collector. It is simply missing the top orange coat of paint as can be proven by the lack of the word "Lager" that the orange coat forms on the adjacent Brown Derby with a correct label.

As for the other most wanted, I have a lot of them in on grade condition:

Bohemian clubs (I have several others that are not listed yet by both Atlantic and Blitz-Weinhard)
Generic Beer by General (I also have at least 20 others that are not listed yet by General)
Brown Derby (I have them all in great shape except for the Champale)
Blitz-Weinhard ( I have a couple of noticeable variations of this label alone that are not listed)
Buckhorns ( I have a couple of unlisted Buckhorns from the Olympia archive)
Brew 102 (I have several unlisted by General)
Buffalo (3-4 variations that aren't listed yet)
Bull dog
Buckeye
Big Sky
You guys need to make a trip to the Pacific Northwest sometime to take pics.
