Ortlieb's Mummer's Parade

Post by Kotto »

Another can that I'm not familiar with. I've seen tons of the bicentennials that look just like this can, but never this one. I assume that it's a dollar can at best, but would like to hear some history or other info on the parade theme. I've never been to Phily, so someone enlighten me!

As for what the Mummer’s Parade is, I would google it. My understanding is that it happens on New Years Day and the “acts” are primarily a bunch of people garishly dressed. I think there are groups that have been doung this for years. I lived near Philly for 15 years, but never went.

There is a fifth Ortleib's Americana Can for the Fairmount Trolley. It was likely never filled and sold, as I've only seen the can a couple of times, and I don't have one. I've seen one for sale for around $100.

You're correct, Al.

It's listed in the Test section of Volume II. It was brought up back in August of this year.

It comes in a half quart as well. One of the cans still on my shelves from the early days of the collection.
