With some recent additions, my side collection of 10oz or smaller cans continues to grow. Nothing spectacular, but it keeps up my interest and I stay busy.

Nice collection. I like the first Pabst can. Is it a bank top?

Yes, Brian, it is a bank top.

I have a couple Olympia smalls that I think might be variations of yours. If interested, I can send a couple pics. Or I can just set them up for the Holiday on line show.

What's the story on the small Burgermeister can?, I don't see any small Burgies in the book...

The Burgermeister has a bank top. I don't know the ounce size - it's not marked anywhere. The bottom has a plug shape as I've seen on other bank cans but it's not cut out - all one piece. Probably a promo to keep the can for storing loose coin and not littering. A slogan on the side is:

"Burgie Says: When I am empty, join the team, help to keep the country clean."

I have a box of small cans, everything would be inexpensive. One is an 8oz with Bud on one side, Schlitz on the other.

BTW, Jim Wolf is updating the digital composite for the small cans this month. He has added several, so that your “side” collection can take up more space.

Iggyks,
Small cans can be fun! Don't take up a lot of space. Easy to spot. That Bud/Schlitz can is the first one pictured in the Supplement in the Commemorative section. If I came across one, I would add it to my collection.

Uncle Jackson,
Taking your suggestion, I checked the small can Supplement and put another post together. I didn't want to bury it here so I make it a new topic. Here's a link: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=45580

I appreciate the contacts from all of you regarding my small can collecting niche.

Nice small cans! Although "Silly Little Side Collection" was not one of Paul McCartney and Wings' better songs....

You'd think that people would have had enough of silly little beer cans
I look around me and I see it isn't so
Some people want to fill their shelves with silly little beer cans
And what's wrong with that
I'd like to know

I keep a fair amount of small cans... got started collecting when I found two 7oz. Rolling Rocks in a Kansas ditch, far from their home. I was about 11. :)

There's a bank with the one-generation-older Burgie guy too. Am out of position but I'll add a picture when I can.

Said little banks. There's also one for the late 50s design before the centered shield label takes over.

I was in Venice Florida this past weekend and actually saw a 8 oz Budweiser available at a gas station. Had a special shelf for it. Had not seen a small one in a long time.

My silly little side collection of banks keeps me looking for things at shows and antique stores.

In my pursuit of all things that look like beer cans but aren't beer cans, I'm wallowing around in this space as well. As to the mini bank cans, I'm missing a Pabst, but do have these.....one on the far right is a Pabst commemorative that I just put on the shelf for the picture....it's coming down because it's not an original beer can design. Cans below are lighter holders....you can see the Coors golf tees....a Carlsberg radio is slipping in from the left and the Michelob golf ball can on the right....above are 6-pacs of hankerchiefs on the right, and on the left are NASCAR cans with 1/64 scale model cars inside.
